Air Austral Boeing 737-800, 777-200LR & 777-300ER [Blu-ray]



So Close, So Far Away
First, the Blu-Ray is 4:30, four and a half hours, so you can't say they didn't give you your money worth. The setting is the Indian Ocean islands, so the scenery is spectacular, when you see it. There are full and superbly done explanations of the cockpits, including some things such as satellite radios that I don't think we've seen before.

The downside is the editing. For their HD work, Just Planes has done a wonderful thing by putting multiple cameras in the cockpit. Then they cut back and forth between views, in a way that makes little sense to me. In this video, they made it worse by actually superimposing two views on top of each other, which I found entirely annoying. It meant that on some of the landings I really didn't get anything, because the scenery and the pilots are both vaguely on the screen.

They should be giving us chapter of each view (i.e., last 15 minutes of flight entirely in the cockpit, then last 15 minutes of flight entirely out the...
