Great Detective Series
I do love Bruno Bremer, the pipe-smoking detective's version of Maigret.
His quiet, studied approach, his non-committal attitude, waiting for
the facts to clarify his decision before nailing the criminal.
Wonderful series
The acting in this series is well-done and overcomes some shortcomings on the screen adaptations. There is a certain redundancy to the story lines.
Maigret Set 2 continues an excellent production
This set of shows equals the high quality of the first set. One of the earliest in this set has Terrence Ford, Harrison's brother, as a principal actor. Cremer is outstanding as usual. Some of the things that French television can get away with, compared even to the US, can be a bit surprising. If one can follow the French, one can pick up a good deal more than comes thru the English subtitles.
